Recommended Reading

I'm asked from time to time what books I would recommend for those that want to learn more about the art of flying airplanes- real and simulated. Although there are a lot to choose from two authors are at the top of my list: Wolfgang Langewiesche and William K. Kershner.

Wolfgang Langewiesche

"Stick And Rudder"

This is widely regarded as the definitive work on the basics of flying an airplane.

William K. Kershner

"Student Pilot's Flight Manual"

"The Advanced Pilot's Flight Manual"

"Instrument Flight Manual"

I always said that the licenses and ratings I earned as a pilot were due to Mr. Kershner.

You can find these books at any good aviation book store, Amazon.com, or multiple places on the internet.
